Gorilla Habituation is the process of making mountain gorillas get used to having humans around. This is done so as to prepare the mountain gorillas for gorilla trekking. 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Habituation Safari Detailed Itinerary
On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our driver/tour guide will be waiting for you. He will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala where you will refresh, have dinner and overnight, prior to your 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Habituation Safari.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
On this day, you will embark on your 3 days Uganda Gorilla Habituation Safari. After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The journey to Bwindi is a long one but surely rewarding with amazing sights and scenery. It will offer you remarkable views of life style on the countryside. Enjoy watching several rolling hills, evergreen vegetation, swamps, farms, plantations, roadside markets, villages and small towns.
You will have your first stopover at the Equator Monument in Kayabwe along Kampala-Masaka highway. There, you will enjoy photography and learn more about the equator. Thereafter, proceed with your journey and make another stopover at Igongo Cultural Center – Mbarara for your lunch. Proceed with your journey till Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. On your arrival in the park, you will be transferred to your lodge in Rushaga, check in, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After your early morning breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you to the Gorilla habituation headquarters. While at the headquarters, you will be briefed about the gorilla habituation experience. Expect to be given details like what gorilla habituation is, how it is done, and what to expect out there in the jungle. You will also be assigned a game ranger who will guide you during the habituation experience.
After briefing, you will head into the thick jungle in search for the mountain gorillas. Enjoy the attractive views of plants, birds and insects en-route your trek in the forest. When you finally encounter these enormous primates, you will be allowed about 4 hours to spend with the mountain gorillas. Unlike gorilla trekking where you are allowed only one hour with the gorillas, here you are allowed 4 hours with the gorillas. The idea is to make the primates accustomed to having humans in the wild. You are supposed to watch them from a distance and observe how they behave in their natural habitat. You will get the chance to see how the mountain gorillas behave, feed and look after their young ones.
You will spend the whole day in the jungle with the remarkable mountain gorillas. After your gorilla habituation experience, you will return to the headquarters for certification and appreciation. Then your driver guide will drive you back to your lodge for relaxation and refreshment.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
After an exciting gorilla habituation escapade in Bwindi Impenetrable, your 3 days Uganda Gorilla Habituation Safari has come to an end. You will wake up early for morning breakfast and transfer back to Kampala. On arrival in Kampala, the driver guide will either transfer you to your hotel or drop you off at the airport to catch your flight back home.
