Our 6 days Lake Mburo Wildlife and Bwindi Gorilla Safari takes you on an adventurous safari to two of the famous safari destinations in Uganda. First, the safari will take you to Lake Mburo National Park – the home of zebras and Impalas. Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest national park in Uganda, but with the largest concentration of zebras and impalas. The park offers several safari activities including, game drives, boat cruise, nature walks, horseback riding, mountain biking among others. You will continue with your 5 days Lake Mburo wildlife and Bwindi Gorilla Safari with a gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This park is famous for harboring half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. While in Bwindi, you will enjoy gorilla trekking and a Batwa cultural experience.

Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest Crater Lake in Uganda and second deepest lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika. Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kampala
After you have landed at Entebbe International Airport, our driver/tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for the night at Fairway Hotel. Meals: Bed & breakfast
Day 2: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park
After your morning breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have a stopover at the Equator Monument in Kayabwe for a photography session then proceed. Enjoy the 4-hour journey to Lake Mburo, bless yourself with amazing en-route views of rolling hills, vegetation, farms, plantations, villages and small towns on the countryside. After you have arrived in the park, you will check into your lodge and head for the afternoon game drive.
During your game drive, you will have tremendous views of wild animals such as topi, giraffes, impalas, elands, buffaloes, zebras, among others. Furthermore, you will enjoy driving through the savannah grasslands with wild views of numerous bird species such as Grey crowned crane, Red-headed lovebird, etc. Lake Mburo National Park is one of the famous birding destinations in Uganda with over 310 bird species. Return to your lodge in the evening, have dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock Camp. Meals: Full board
Day 3: Morning Game drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Early in the morning, have early breakfast and go for the morning game drive. During the game drive, expect to encounter wild animals grazing in the grasslands like topi, impalas, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, zebras among others. You are also likely to spot some predators including leopards and hyenas though chances of seeing them during day are low. Return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch.
Later in the afternoon, your driver guide will pick you up from your lodge and take you for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo. As you explore Lake Mburo on a boat cruise, you will able to views water mammals including hippos and crocodiles. You will also encounter various pelicans, common squacco and several other bird species. Return to your lodge, have dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock Camp. Meals: Full board
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
On day 4 of your 6 days Lake Mburo Wildlife and Bwindi Gorilla Safari, you have early morning breakfast and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Enjoy beautiful views of the rolling terraced hills of Kigezi en-route. Upon your arrival in the park, you will check into your lodge, have lunch. Later in the afternoon, head for the Batwa cultural encounter in the Batwa communities. Take a community visit to the native Batwa communities – also known as the pygmies for an exhilarating encounter. Enjoy interacting with the locals while observing their life styles. Mix and mingle with them, listen to their ancestral tales and take time to try out some of their foods and drinks for instance their local brew. Return to your lodge, have dinner and rest at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge. Meals: Full board
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to the gorilla trekking headquarters for your briefing. During the briefing, you will be given guidelines for gorilla trekking and allocation of groups. You will also be assigned professional game rangers who will be guiding you through the gorilla trekking adventure. You are advised to carry your lunch as you are likely to spend up to 8 hours trekking gorillas.
At around 08:00am, you will start the gorilla trekking adventure. Your ranger will lead you into the thick impenetrable forest while clearing paths for you to stroll though. As you trek the enormous primates, you will find the gigantic mountain gorillas in their habitats. You will be allowed about an hour to spend around the amazing apes. While observing the mountain gorillas, expect to see them feeding, resting and nesting gently in their natural habitat. After the exciting gorilla trekking experience, return to your lodge for lunch and refreshment. You will then check out of your lodge and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
On arrival in Lake Bunyonyi, you will check into your lodge and spend the evening at your leisure. Take time to enjoy swimming, born fire and walks by the lake at your leisure. Have dinner and overnight at Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort. Meals: Full board
Day 6: Canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi – Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
You will have breakfast in the morning and then go for a canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. Expect to enjoy the peaceful and breathtaking canoe ride while you appreciate several views of the lake’s 29 prolific islands, birds and terraced landscapes. From there, you will head for an island tour where you will explore various activities including fishing, crop-farming among others. Get a chance to interact with the locals and observe their ways of survival on the island. Return to your lodge refresh, check out of your lodge and embark on your journey back to Kampala.
You will have a stopover at Igongo Cultural Center for your lunch and then proceed to Kampala. On your arrival in Kampala, your driver guide will either transfer you to your hotel or drop you off at Entebbe to catch your flight back home. This marks the end of your 6 days Lake Mburo Wildlife and Bwindi Gorilla Safari.
