10-Day Kenya Bush and Beach Holiday

Your adventure begins early in the morning, with a departure from Nairobi at approximately 7:00 AM. Enjoy a scenic 5—to 6-hour drive through the Great Rift Valley to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, you will stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint, where you can admire the breathtaking escarpment and take stunning photos of this geological wonder. Proceed with your journey to the Masai Mara, and on arrival, you will be transferred to your lodge or tent for check-in. Enjoy a delicious lunch and relax at your accommodation. Later, embark on an introductory game drive, where you will have your first encounter with the Masai Mara’s incredible wildlife. The Mara is home to an abundance of animals, including the Big Five (lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos), giraffes, cheetahs, and wildebeests. As the sun sets over the vast savannah, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast at 6:30, leave your lodge with a packed lunch and embark on a full-day game drive in the Masai Mara, known for its Big Five sightings and the annual Great Wildebeest Migration. Your experienced guide will help you navigate the park, taking you to areas with the best wildlife sightings. Located in southwestern Kenya, the Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations, boasting a sheer density of wildlife. During the drive, you may witness lions hunting, elephants roaming in large herds, and cheetahs sprinting across the plains. If you visit between July and October, you might also witness the spectacular wildebeest Migration crossings at the Mara River. This natural event attracts numerous predators like crocodiles and lions, creating a wildlife display to remember. A picnic lunch will be served inside the bush, allowing you to enjoy your meal while surrounded by the stunning wilderness. The game drive continues into the afternoon, with opportunities to visit the Mara River, home to hippos and crocodiles, before returning to your lodge for a well-deserved dinner and relaxation. After breakfast, you will depart the Masai Mara and drive to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake located in the Great Rift Valley. Surrounded by picturesque scenery, the lake is known for its bird population, including flamingos and amazing wildlife such as leopards and rhinos, which can be seen roaming its landscape. The 3 to 4-hour drive takes you through Kenya’s scenic countryside, passing through the breathtaking Rift Valley and lush farmlands. Upon arrival at Lake Naivasha, you will check in at your lodge and have lunch before heading out for an unforgettable boat safari. As you cruise along the calm waters, you will spot hippos, flamingos, fish eagles, and other aquatic birds. The boat ride also offers spectacular views of the lake’s lush surroundings, where giraffes and zebras can be seen grazing along the shores. From the boat, you will take a short walk at Crescent Island, a wildlife sanctuary home to giraffes, zebras, jackals, wildebeests, and antelopes. After an early breakfast, you will set off on a 5 to 6-hour drive to Amboseli National Park, located near the Kenya-Tanzania border. This journey takes you through scenic landscapes, including open plains, acacia woodlands, and Maasai villages. Arrive in Amboseli National Park in time for lunch at your lodge or tented camp. Enjoy your lunch at your accommodation with a swim at the pool, or take a short game drive to get a glimpse of Amboseli’s famous elephant herds with the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. The evening concludes with dinner at your lodge as you prepare for a full day of adventure the next day.

The fifth day of your Kenya safari begins with an early morning game drive in Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds, and this morning offers breathtaking sightings of these gentle giants against the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is also the best time to spot predators such as lions and cheetahs in action. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a late breakfast and relaxation. After lunch, set out in the afternoon to visit a traditional Maasai village to explore and learn about the Maasai people’s culture, including their traditions, beadwork, and unique nomadic way of life. Return to your lodge in the evening and have dinner. Overnight stay in Amboseli National Park.

After breakfast, enjoy a brief morning game drive in Amboseli before embarking on a 2 to 3-hour drive to Tsavo West National Park, one of Kenya’s largest and most diverse national parks. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and have lunch. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the pristine wilderness of Tsavo. Overnight stay in Tsavo West National Park.

Wake up early at 6:30 am, and have breakfast before embarking on an exhilarating full-day game drive in Tsavo West National Park. Known for its dramatic landscapes, volcanic terrain, and abundant wildlife, Tsavo West offers a unique safari experience. Traverse through open savannahs, acacia woodlands, and rocky outcrops as you search for elephants, lions, leopards, large herds of buffalo, giraffes, and a variety of antelope species. A highlight of the park is Mzima Springs, a crystal-clear water source where large numbers of hippos and crocodiles thrive. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of Chaimu Crater and Shetani Lava Flows, remnants of Tsavo’s volcanic history. With its rugged beauty and diverse ecosystems, Tsavo West promises an unforgettable wildlife-viewing safari adventure. The day concludes with dinner and relaxation at your lodge. Wake up at leisure and have breakfast before starting your journey to the serene coastline of Kenya in Diani Beach. The journey will take about 6 to 7 hours, with stopovers for lunch on the way. Upon arrival at Diani Beach, check into your beach resort and spend the rest of the day relaxing by the white sandy beaches or taking a dip in the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Overnight stay at Diani Beach.

Spend your ninth day in pure relaxation and adventure. Diani Beach also offers numerous activities, including snorkelling, scuba Diving, kite surfing, jet skiing, and swimming with dolphins. You can also choose to relax on the powdery white sands, enjoy fresh seafood, or indulge in a spa treatment. Overnight stay at Diani Beach.

After breakfast, you will either fly back to Nairobi from Ukunda Airstrip or take a scenic drive back to the capital.
